Weekly Events:
There are so many ways for children of Rome First to become active participants. The Sunday school classes are filled with exciting lessons and fun activities. The children in grades K-2nd are invited to go to PraiseKids before the sermon in the 11:00 worship services. Our Wednesday night activities (First Connection) begin with supper at 5:15 pm. Children ages 3-5th grade are dismissed for Children's Choir at 5:45 pm. Nursery is available for babies-2-year-olds. The children regroup back in the Wilder Center at 6:30 pm for a devotion / mission activities and God's games. All activities end at 7:00 pm.
Super Summer/Monthly Fun: Our 4th and 5th graders are enjoying special outings together every third month. Look for information in the Herald for our next Circle 45 adventure.
Bi-weekly trips will be planned for children and their parents beginning in June. Information and sign up sheets will be available in May.
Every summer our Vacation Bible School is host to close to 175 children ages 3-5th grade. Each year there is a planned theme and we have over 50 volunteers leading the way. Children enjoy Bible lessons, crafts, recreation, and music. Vacation Bible School starts on a Monday and ends Friday.
Yearly Events and Family Festivities: Each year Rome First has great events for families and children to share. There is an Easter Egg Hunt in the spring and social activities in the summertime. In September, we kick off our Wednesday night program with special entertainment. We celebrate God's
colors with a Fall Festival, and our church has a memorable breakfast with Santa ending with an opportunity to go caroling on the trolley. One of our most treasured activities for the children is the performance of the Christmas Pageant.
Camp Glisson: In beautiful Dahlonega, Georgia there is a Methodist-run camp by the name of Camp Glisson. This camp is open to children who have completed 3rd grade up to seniors in high school. You may contact camp Glisson directly at 1-706-864-6181 or click here www.campglisson.org .
This is a wonderful camping experience for children.
