Who are the United Methodist Women at Rome First UMC?
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

What does membership mean?

1. All of us are committed to our PURPOSE as an organization.
2. Most all of us contribute to the pledge to mission which is $5200 for 2007 by contributing through our Circle or sending it to the chair of General Membership.
3. Some of us have joined one or more Circles:
1. Traditional - Morning Glories, Circle 7 or Mary Martha Group
2. Project - SonShine Group or Sarah’s Circle
3. Homebound - Circle 10
4. Special Focus - Spiritual Growth Study Group or Prayer Shawl Knitting Group

1. Some of us participate in Ministries of Hospitality and Social Action - The Foot Project, Community Kitchen, Friends of Foster Families, Stephen Ministry, writing to missionaries and legislators and Circle 10 members, Fair Trade Coffee, etc.
2. Some of us participate in ministries with children - Vacation Bible School, Murphy-Harpst Children’s Centers, Friends of Foster Families, etc.
3. Some of us participate in mission education, global mission and spiritual growth - Mission Studies, Reading Program, Bible Studies, Conference-District-National opportunities, using the Prayer calendar, reading Response magazine, etc.
4. Some of us participate in fellowship at General Meetings.
5. Some may want to participate in the online community at www.umwonline.org
6. Some of us do more than one of the above opportunities.

Then decide how you will participate. We need all women at Rome First UMC to be a part of United Methodist Women!
