Breakaway
Sunday Evening Fellowship Breakaway is our Sunday evening youth fellowship program that meets from 6:00-7:30 pm where we have free food, fun games, and great discussions! We all meet together for supper, fellowship and to talk about things that matter. This is a group that prays together, plays together, and encourages one another to grow closer to the Lord.
Sunday School
Learning about God on Sunday mornings.

Junior High: 6th-8th grades are invited to join us at 9:45 on Sunday mornings for some great discussions as we look at different books of the Bible and learn how to make the Scripture relate to our lives. We also look at different topics that help us to grow in our faith. Sunday school meets in the junior high room on the youth wing.

Senior High: Anyone in high school is welcome to come at 9:45 on Sunday mornings to meet with other youth to share ideas, discuss tough questions, and encourage one another. We often watch hit TV shows and discuss the issues of faith and love we see there. Come early to the Cool Beans Cafe for a specialty coffee drink made just for you!

Cool Beans Cafe: Senior High students are invited to come before Sunday school to get a specialty coffee drink made to order. Choose a smoothie or latte, and add your favorite syrup to make it unique! This is better than Starbucks because it's free!! Join us at 9:30 am and stay for Sunday school.

Youth Connection
Wednesday Night Bible studies in small groups studies take place during the week, typically after supper on Wednesday nights. We break up into guys and girls classes to talk about those things that matter most to us. Really grow closer to a small group of friends as we study and learn in a safe atmosphere. Bible studies last from 6:00-7:00 pm.

Youth Missions
You can make a difference!
We are taught to "love one another." What better way to show what we learn than by actually going out and doing just that? We love to get involved in local, rural, and even international missions! In the past we have served in the Community Kitchen, South Broad Food Pantry, cleaned up rivers in North Georgia, helped with Art Camp and VBS, participated in mission retreats at Camp Glisson, helped build a church in Honduras and much more!! This summer we are heading to Hinton Rural Life Center to repair houses and serve the community. We also love to raise money for worthy causes. We had a huge fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity by experiencing homelessness for a night and sleeping outside in boxes! We went without food during our 30-Hour Famine to raise money for World Vision to help end child hunger. Join us as we continue to learn about serving others and making the world a little better.

Confirmation Class
Learn to be a disciple of Christ and become a member of Rome First. Claim the name Christian, and the name United Methodist! Confirmation classes give youth the chance to learn more about their faith and their church, and what it means to say you will follow Christ. Confirmation is open to 6th grade and above. All youth get the chance at the end to make a decision about joining the church. Special retreats and lock-ins are scheduled to give youth further hands-on experiences and fellowship with each other. Each youth is assigned a mentor or "friend-in-faith" to help him or her understand what they are learning and ask questions.
Special Events
Fun stuff throughout the year The year is filled with several special events that compliment what we learn in Sunday school and Breakaway. We spend a lot of time in fellowship and fun together with spiritual retreats, ski and camping trips, whitewater rafting, trips to Six Flags, lock-ins, paintball, and much more. Check out the calendar to see what fun is coming up next!!
