Michael Snyder
Assistant Director of Traditional Worship and Organist
Michael Snyder is in his 21st year of teaching and third year as Director of Choruses at Johns Creek High School in Johns Creek, Georgia. Michael’s career has spanned full-time and part-time Director of Music/Organist positions in Georgia and Ohio. Students under his direction have consistently achieved superior ratings and grand champions at festivals, superior ratings at District and State level Ohio Music Education Adjudicated Events, performed at the Ohio Statehouse on multiple occasions, and achieved superior ratings in both stage performance and sight-reading at Georgia Music Education Association LGPE events. Mr. Snyder holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance from the University of Akron, Music Education Certification from The Ohio State University, and a Master of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. Michael has studied conducting and choral methods with Lisa Fredenburgh, James Jordan, Robert Sinclair, and Andre Thomas. Michael is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the American Guild of Organists, and the Georgia Music Education Association. Mr. Snyder serves as the District 10 GMEA Mixed Honors Chorus Coordinator, is the Assistant Director of Traditional Worship and Organist at Rome First United Methodist in Rome, Georgia, and maintains an active role in the Johns Creek High School musical theatre department.
